In order to run a decent lengh long tube header I'm going to have to put it outside of left frame.What do ya thing of doing this.Seen alot like that but always worried about getting smashed !

Yep and smashed they will get. Why not go for 180 degree or cross over headers. I run 180 and like them fine.

If you go with that short of a header you will be cutting down on backpresser and some of the torque that they help produce. I run the adj. type and they will seem to do just fine.

we run are late model stuff, howe 180s iron lung system,

I run the 180 headers for the last few years and I like them very well...

Are you guys running the 180's and crossovers out of the sheet metal or just dumping them straiht out of the collector?

Put a flange on collector and fabricate tubes to exit just in front of right rear tire. Then you can make a second set with mufflers on that can be bolted to collector flange when you go to a QUIET track.

I Run mine stright out the door..I use the inserts that go into the collecter...
