Dirt_slinger, first off COMPLETELY gut the car. Remove whatever your rules will allow. Cut out every piece of the body that doesn't HAVE to be there. I always set the body off the frame on a metric (like yours) and remove every nut, bolt, and ***** , and then clean and paint every part and piece. You'll want to "X" and box the frame. If you're required a stock floorpan, set it back on (search this forum searchword: Sleepy Gomez). Then have a knowledgeable fabricator install your rollcage. Keep safety first and always think about weight! Keep everything as far back as possible! Inches add up and every little bit helps. When you get that far start asking more questions and you'll be surprised at how many intellegent answers you'll get here on this forum.

Hello DirtSlinger, Welcome to the forum. The first advice I would offer is to read the forum.....many of the questions you have will be answered......and some you didn't .....lol As your questions become more specific, so will the answers.....

The most important thing is to build a good quality Roll cage.........DOM tubing is best, but more expensive.......Worth every penny........Don't use anything less......
If you do not have the equipment and necessary skills......It would be best to have it done professionally.......

The set up will vary according to the track......and your driving style..........

Ballpark on the springs.......LF1000......RF 1200......... LR 250 RR 200

Ballpark weight........53left 53-54 rear

Of course you need to be at minimum weight....

Many things will depend on the rules......written and unwritten........

And, it's hard to advise you without knowing what you are allowed to do........So, give us more info. There's a lot of good guys here glad to help..........

For example, a "streetstock" can be anything from a bone stock enduro car to a limited late.......

Good Luck,
Snowman

the best way to do it would be to buy mine and put your skins on it lol i run the tru coil springs from speedway run 1150rf,925lf;200rr;250rr. run bilstein shocks if you have to run stock mouts and be sure to get ahold of somebody that has some scales thats going to help you out more than anything esle that way if you have a handleing problem you can fix it faster then throing a bunch of set ups on it when you don't know realy know why the car is doig what it's doing

If you want scales, go to the tool box and build your own as I have done and have used for years. They are inexpensive and WORK.
