ok I have a 1984 Monte Carlo I have just replaced the stock springs and shocks with afco. On the front I used the 5 1/2 X 12 street stock springs which is just a tad shorter than the stock springs that they replaced. What I am confused about is now I have to much negative camber in the left front and cant adjust it out anymore because it already as no shims in it. I also have gained negative camber in the right front but it can be adjusted enough I think since you want negative camber in the right front. Why did it change if the spindles and a arms are the same. Shouldn't it be the same distance as before or could I have tighten the ball joints up to much from where they used to be. What is my option to get a little postive camber on left front.

you need to cut the springs down to get your correct ride hight first, 12 inches is too tall in the metric cars the afco springs are alot stiffer so it should be sitting higher then your stock springs thus the change in camber

Try this: Jack the front end off the ground and watch what happens to camber when the suspensoin travels down. BK 19 is exactly right, you've changed the ride height enough to change the inclination of the upper and lower a arms. You can replace or shorten the springs, but remember, shortening a spring will change it's rate. I'd suggest replacing them with the 9 1/2" spring with a shim on top of the spring. You probably know someone who has a set of the adjustable shims who will let you borrow them. It's a pain in the keester to keep removing the spring and screwing the adjuster, but once you get the ride height and percentages you're after-remove them and cut the non adjustable ones to match. It's a big help to have a set of scales and a helper or two to do this job-but it's worth every bit of sweat! PS Leave the shock off until you're done!

Move the upper a-frame mount out 1/2 inch. Works every time!

so another words even if the springs are shorter than the stock one the car is higher cause the springs are stiffer. But do i wanna cut a new 60.00 spring? Is there another option.
