How can you tell how heavy the springs are? Is there something on the springs, or do I have to go have them tested? If so, where and how? Sorry for stupid questions, but I'm new to all of this and want to learn all I can. Thanx.

there is also a calculator in the tool box on here so you can guestimate the rates or if you have a chassis builder in your area they may have a tester

If they are rear springs say under 300 lbs. I used a drill press and Bathroom scale the figure out the spring rate. Just place the spring on the scale and compress it an inch with the press. It's not exact but it fairly close. Make sure to brace under the press table so not to bust it off.
I tried the spring rate caculator with a couple front springs without any success. I might have been doing it wrong though, but it was nowhere close no matter how I tried.
