I'm building a 360 mopar for street stock and I have to use a factory 2 barrel intake and carb. Can anyone give me any tips on which ones are the hot ticket?

You will have to do some check on this to be sure but I believe in the early 70's dodge used a rochester 2bbl on the 360 truck motors. It is the same as the gm 2bbl all your competitors are running. I think the intake was different as well due to carb bolt pattern.

What heads are you using on the motor?

360 smog heads w/ air pump holes, you know the ones, with 2.02 chevy valves. Nothing etched in stone yet

A very good set of heads is the 308 casting which was used (i think) 89-91 on 360 truck engines - it is the pre-magnum head. I have a set that I am working on now and they look really good. Although I have not tried them yet. The intake port is a swirl port design and the exhaust port is based on the W2 head design with a smooth short side radius (unlike the bad exhaust port on the old type heads). Mopar performance also makes a porting template for these. I am sure the bigger valves will fit with no problems, I plan to use the 340 2.02's. They will ouflow the old X head. And, all other parts, rockers, valve cover etc bolt up with no problems.

Thanx 340duster. Somewhere I have an old Mopar mag that talks about the different casting #'s. When I find it I'll let you know what it says, if your interested. Any thoughts on an claimer 350? alot of 318s out there. turn the crank, fly cut the pistons? I'm thinking about a back up motor as well 360 cranks are cheap, also
