Our team is planning on buying a set of scales hopefully in the near future. Does anyone have any recommendations as to what set to get that is the most for the money? We are hoping to avoid getting a set that is prone to problems, short life, or scales that have more bells and whistles (and price tag) than we really need. Longacre seems to be the biggest name out there, but they do have different models at different price levels. Any advice here would be appreciated!! Thanks!

I have a set of Intercomp SWI scales. They have nice pads. A bit heavier than other brands, but I like the duribility. The wires are all Aircraft quality connectors They also have 4 different colored wires for each pad. The readout always shows each corner and total weight or %. Its battery powered. A HUGE plus. The batteries are a ni-cad type and last well over 8 hours a charge.they are replaceable with standard batteries. It comes with a charger. It can run directly from the charger, and has an auto shutoff. The SWI is rs232 capable(hooks to PC)(cable extra)...
Heres the bad part, its a bit more, around $1400..
Definetly get scales, get what you can afford!!!
NEVER GO IN HALFES with yor buddy.
You wont be buddies for long..
Just my 2 cents.
