Out here most of the drivers i know dont run a thermostat, what do some of the rest of you think about that and do any of you run them?

If you don't have a temp problem, then that works. I always use a restrictor. You have to keep the fluid in the ratiator long enough to transfer the heat.

Kwtracer would the restrictor be like cutting the top of a thermostat off and just using it. Eddie

No thermostat. No restrictor either. But I'm running a top-of-the-line waterpump from Stewart (www.waterpumps.com). Follow ALL their recommendations with their pump and you'll have no cooling problems.

we have always just gutted the thermostat out and use that as our restrictor

I run the restrictors, 5/8 winter, 3/4 summer in AZ. I like the stewart wtr pumps also. Those checker/auto-zone lifetime swap pumps aren't worth the cheap price when you risk one going out on you and overheating youre engine.

Here is what I looked at to determine if I would run a restrictor. http://www.stewartcomponents.com/tech_info.htm

I just take the moving parts out of a thermostat and put the rest in the intake. The rest of the motor is stock stuff, pulleys, pump, radiator, shroud and the like.
