Feasible ?.....Yes.......Desirable ?.....NO
You have to have a battery. Since You must carry this weight, Then mount it in a position to help you gain left and rear weight.
I mount them behind the drivers seat in a marine box. Some people like to mount them in the trunk. But, I prefer to keep the possible ignition source away from the fuel cell.
I think most people do give some thought to the mounting position.
I seen one guy mount his on the rf down bar, basicly, right behind the rf tire. I asked why he chose that position, and he said, "well, it was a good place to weld it on,(rf down and diagonal brace) AND his stock battery cable would reach the starter,if he mounted it there"..........
Well, Ok, he has his reasons, and I have mine.....lol
What about every thing else, most people do think about the battery but, what about all the small items. Like puke can,ps tank, selinoid and wiring. These things, in and of themselves don't amount to much. However, collectively, the small things add up.
So,since You will be carring them anyway, mount them all as far left,as far rearward, and as low as possible.
