I'm going to buy a 72 nova thats been used on a 3/8 mile paved track for three years. I've raced on dirt about 10 years ago, but I don't know the difference in setup from dirt to asphalt. I haven't really decided if I'll race on the asphalt or dirt. What would I have to do to change it over to race in dirt. The tracks I'm thinking about are both 1/4 and 3/8 mile banked dirt tracks. There's a boatload of info about dirt racing on this bbs, but is there something similiar about asphalt? If it's not too much trouble, I may try and race both, is that possible? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Randy

from what i heard from some of the guys who have ran both with the same car the only major difference is the rear springs(if you have racing springs). they reversed them and made some air adjustments and it went fine. thats justed what ive heard. never tried it.

I'm not particularly fond of novas, check and make sure subframe is railed. I don't think those old novas had a full frame and the older chevelles and montes did. look for one of them if this nova is not a full frame.

You can take 2x2x3 and run it on the inside of the car instead of having to put it underneath i like this way much better weld a square piece of plate to the rear kickup run it along the floor and into the front subframe on the passengers side you can run it staight from the kickup and into the subframe so you can offset the cage if desired.
