Ok guys I know this is in here somewhere but I cant find it. I have a 3 speed tranny with a 1.90 2nd gear ratio. I've been told that the markings on the tail of the tranny tell what gear it is. Can someone tell me what they are. I'm looking for a 6.50 final gear ratio, my rear gear is 3.73. I've heard there is one with a 1.74 2nd gear ratio is that correct?

scoot the lines are on the imput shaft not on the tail i'm assuming yours has 3 lines witch would make it a 1.89 if you are looking for a 650 the the closest thing you would get is a 626 with a 1.68(no lines) or a 686 with a 1.84(2 lines)with your 373 gear you could get a 650 with your 1.89 if you went to a 3.42 rear gear that would give you a 646

Go to www.racersguide.com , then look under the transmission ratios section to find what ya need. GM ratios for 3 and 4 speeds, plus glides are listed there.

[IMG]http://216.117.149.191/ubb/smilies/cwm3.gi They cut across the input shaft like rings. Look at them close though, cause sometimes normal wear and tear will cut into the shaft and will cause a misread.
