I am new to this and our track rules say "NO SLIDERS" my question is what is a slider and what are they used for. Any help will be appricated.

Most commonly, a slider is used as the connecting point for the rear of leaf springs, instead of shackles. Less binding and usually more range of motion.
If it's a coil spring, they're used to mount the coil spring similar to a coilover without the shock.
