This is a stretch - does anyone know if '70-81' Camaro rotors/calipers will fit on 78-up Implala spindles? I seriously doubt it, but am still curious. Thanks.

The later Impala spindles (with 12" x 1" rotors and 5 on 5) came out 1st with the small outer bearing (you should find a large #2 on this casting) which should accept a 70 through 78 Camaro rotor (although the caliper bracket will be about 1/2" too far away). Later (not sure what year) the Impala spindle went to the larger outer bearing (same casting, different pin) and should accept a 79 through 81 Camaro rotor (with similar caliper issues).
One way I have been able to spot the larger outer bearing spindles of both these types is by the grease cap. The larger bearing (later) style has a cap that appears smaller and has a brim like a hat.
I have used all four of these spindle types. Don't remember if I ever tried this swap myself, but I've always assumed it would work.
Good Luck
