I am trying to get a 1986 Camaro ready to race. I can do everything except the body.
I think it has steel on it right now. I would like to know how to put sheetmetal on it. Do you just cover the steel or what.
I am not even sure if it is steel. Can
somebody please help me out.

First off, do your rules allow to to replace
the stock body parts, which are steel, with sheet metal? If so then do it. Rip off the
steal body parts, then fab some sheet metal
to your liking and attach. You will need to weld brackets on your role bars to attach the sheet metal. The steel body parts are much stronger and can take more of a beating than the sheet metal ones. Although, sheet metal is much lighter.

86 maro skin makes a great looking car. You have to gut the car out, get the doors skins off the door's, and get the quarter panels off, you can fab a trunk lid or use the one off the hatch, the front fenders should need little if no gutting at all, and there are after market noses to fit this car as well, and finally gut the hood. Just make yourself a skin of the former car and bolt or weld it on you cage.
