i want to tap my rochester carb for holley jets what size tap do i need is it a special one of a kind deal or would a hardware store have it the only one i have found is from race part dealer and it''s $35 hoping to find something a little more reasonable then that

well i can save you about 28 dollars go to your local hobby store and ask them for a glow plug tap for the airplane engines it is the same thing as the holley jets and they cost about 7 bucks!!!! i didnt believe it at first either until i went and picked one up a few years ago

Yes, BK19 is correct. The thread size for a Holley jet is a 1/4"x32 pitch. Not many hardware stores will stock anything other than the 1/4"x28 (the normal fine thread), and that won't work for ya.
If you have trouble finding a tap, drop me a line, and I'll set ya up with one cheap. I have several suppliers that keep me stocked that don't require me sending them my first born child to pay the bill...LOL!

BE SURE AND GET TWO DIFFERENT TAPS, A TAPER TAP AND A BOTTOM TAP. 1/4 32 IS THE SIZE AND THREADS PER INCH NOT PITCH. JUST A CLARIFICATION.
