In need of a starting point for set-up. 3400 lbs., 3/8 mile semi-banked. Springs, sway bar? etc.... Dry-slick track most of the time. Any help is appreciated. Deed

First I need to know if you run dirt or asphalt? I run a dirt car. I was running 1150 rf. and a 950 lf. Now I am going to be running a 13 rf and a 11 lf. My car also weighs 3000 lbs. I run leaf springs on the rear 175s but wanting to go to 200 they seem to be a little weak. I don't run a sway bar.

I wouldn't use a sway bar on a dirt car. I tried a few years ago and kept breaking the control arm links. I race a metric car that weighs 3000 lb total weight with me in the car ready to go on the trackwith this set up:
springs-rf 1200,lf 1000,rr 250,lr 300
weight %- rear 54,left 54, cross 52
left rear bite-160 lb

hey pickle have you ever seen a dry slick asphalt track? any way ow thats about the same as i run i have ran my car with and with out the sway bar never noticed much difference

would ya'll recommend not running a sway bar on anything on dirt?
I run a 77 cutlass, bomber on 3/8 med bank
not sure of weight but I know its heavy

If you are running racing spring rates a stock sway bar isn't strong enough to do much good. You would probably end up breaking the control arm links try to get enough preload on the bar. You also want more body roll on a dirt car than an asphalt car, so a sway bar is less desirable for this reason also.
