This is my first year of dirt track racing and I honestly dont know too much about it. I have managed a win in a B feature, and third in an A. I hear everyone always talking about soaking their tires, but no one at my local track wants to give out there secrets. What are some things you all do to soften up the tires? IS there much benefit to come from it on a 3/8mi dirt track? The car is a 78 Regal, and I run Hoosier tires. They are grooved asphalt tires I think. Any help you all can give is appreciated. Thanks

my opinion dont waste your time. if you have a set of tires just for time ins then that will work but for the most part its gone in less than 10 laps.

Brandon,
Check your dirt mail. I sent you everything I know about this. Obviously that would make it a very short email........Hope it helps

Hey Stroker-chief,
This subject has come up here and elsewhere in the past. It sometimes appears that it is an issue that elicits alot of controversy. I do not want to open a can of worms on this fine site. But in all fairness if you email me at the address listed in my profile I will send you what info I have. The only thing I will say right now is don't expect tire soaking alone to be the key to winning, it is just another tool that you may or may not choose to use.
