what is everyone running for gear lube. I was thinking of using red line synthetic for the tranny, and regular old 80/90 for the 9". Does the rear need all the extra protection?? I check the bearings regularly as it is. Is it worth the extra money??

80/90 ALL AROUND BUT I USE A SAGINAW 3 SPD TRANY. COST ABOUT $50 IF I LOOSE 1 A YEAR NO BIG DEAL.

I always used Chevron Ultra 80 w 90. They have changed the name to Chevron Delo 80w90. Darn good lube. After changing to this we never lost a rear gear.

We use Mystic JT 7 gear oil. It is a 80w-90 oil and is red in color. This stuff sticks to stuff like glue and holds up extremely well. You can find it at most farm supply stores.
