Gear ratios are also dependent on tire roll out.We ran a 7.94 final on a medium 1/4 mile and a 7.56 on a long 1/4 with an 89 inch tire roll out. We tried to keep RPM's about 7200 to 7500. We have also run an 8.19 final on the first mentioned track ( a little much)

we run a 3/8 mile with a standard saginaw 3 speed tranny and run a 5.83 for dry slick tracks and a 6.00 for a heavy track. [image]members.spree.com/entertainment/ERICDUGLASTKA/2001car1.jpg[/image]

3.70 gear on a 1/2 mile track I run 82" IMCA tires. I run 4th gear on dry slick at @4200 RPM and 3rd gear for a heavy track @5400 (4.74 total gear in 3rd).
