I have a problem making my car die. At my track we have to use a master swith that a track official can hit to kill your engine. I run an alternator and it will not die. What do I do now?

Is your kill switch on the postive or negative side of your ignition system? If it's on the negative side, and you have multiple ground paths back to the battery, the switch may be "bypassed" and rendered ineffective. For this reason it's usually a good idea to wire the switch into the positive side of the system.

I HAD THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM. THIS WHAT I DID AND IT WORKED GREAT.

1)RUN POWER TO SWITCH AND OTHER TERMANIAL TO STARTER (ASSUMED IT IS ALREADY THAT WAY)

2)RUN ALTINATOR TO BATTERY SIDE OF SWITCH YES BATTERY SIDE. (THIS WILL LET THE ALTINATOR CHARGE THE BATERY.)

3)PUT A SWITCH ON THE LINE TO THE ALTINATOR (IF YOU DO NOT THEN THE ALTINATOR WILL PULL DOWN THE BATTERY WHEN NOT IN USE.)

WORKED GREAT FOR ME. YOU CAN KICK OFF THE ATINATOR TO FREE UP A COUPLE OF HORSES WHEN YOU NEED TO. WHEN YOU KILL THE MASTER THE CAR WILL DIE HOWEVER THE ALT WILL DRAW CURRENT UNTIL YOU TURN OF THE ALT SWITCH.

Use a battery master switch that kills the power to all of the electronics of the car. Put it inline with the positive battery cable.

LIKE OWRACER SAID BUT IF YOU DON'T CONNECT THE ALT TO THE BAT SIDE IT WILL STILL RUN WHEN YOU KILL THE SWITCH.
