What's everyones opinion on valve springs? I'm running a 10.5 -1 350 with a solid cam and lifters, around .530 lift, nothing too severe. Is there a good oem diameter valve spring that will be sufficient for 7000 rpm?

I run the small spring that has the high rpm rating on them...the bigger ones are better but if you are low on funds the small ones will do fine

If you have to run stock diameter definitely run the Cranes, they cost a little more but are well worth it. When I bought some of the "z28" .550 lift springs they wouldn't work with a .520 lift cam. After I shimmed them to get 120 lbs of seat pressure there was only .015 clearance between the coils.

Compition Products make a good .600 lift stock dia. spring. I ran them for several years with no problem.

from my own expierence it is best to call the manufacturer of the cam you are or plan on running and get the reccomended springs for it. also to make sure you dont have further problems make sure the rocker is in the proper position on the valve stem, make sure the pushrods are the correct length. stock will work with most cams but due to different manufacturers the base circle can be different requiring different length pushrods.
