You could need anywhere from a 6.5 to a 7.5 final depending on how fast the track is. Ask some of the front runners at the track and figure out an average based on their responses (most will be honest with you I'd suspect).
First gear in a Turbo 350 is 2.52, so a 2.73 gear set will get you in the ball park with (6.88 final). But your gear also depends on what rear end you're using. Are you sticking with the stock rear end or putting a 9 inch in it?
If it's any help I run a 1/4 mile track with a 7.3 final. The track's got mild banking and is on the slow side.

THANKS FOR THE REPLY.I'LL PROBBALY HAVE TO USE THE FACTORY REAREND FOR A WHILE UNTIL I GET SOME EXTRA MONEY,UNLESS I RUN INTO A GOOD DEAL ON A 9INCH.THE TRACK IS SEMI BANKED & FAST.THANKS AGAIN DEEK

You may think me a fool, but we ran on a short 1/4 mile and pulled a 7.94 gear. Even on a full track with good banks we ran about 7.60 to 7.78 final. I don't mid twisting the engine and ran only two engines in four full years of compition. My theory is to get the car out of and off the corner quicker and let the driver control the other end. The last lap is only from mid corner to the flag stand.
