There's a guy I know that runs a TH350 and runs it in 2nd gear with 4.10 gears in the
rear-end. He runs a camaro and is currently second in the points right now. The 4.10 times the 350's second gear of 1.52 gives him a 6.23 final ratio, which is close to the 6.25, 6.30 ratio that alot of guys shoot for on a 1/3 mile dirt track. I'm going to try it next year since I have a couple of those cores sitting around also.

i know several people who use them i had one myself when if first started but it was worn out and it was cheaper for me to replace it than rebuild it. most who use them seam to like them.

I run a TH-350 in a 4000# street stock in first due to rules. With some mild massaging it will hold up just fine. In fact I'm considering trying a powerglide due to the fact its smaller and lighter. On that note the 350 is smaller and lighter (read more efficent) than the 400 so I'd go ahead and use it.
Good luck

Ran a TH 350 for 5 years in a 3500# street stock, changed fluid every two weeks and made sure we had a good trans cooler. Ran low gear 2.52 and the only problem we had was that it was lazy on a start with a stock converter. We used up about 1 a year, always kept a spare. We usally turned about 7200 to 7400 on the engine so we were not easy on the trans. Good Luck, The PEDDLER.
