Author Topic:   Ford Windsor Manifolds

Track Rules say we must run cast iron heads, cast iron intake manifold and cast iron exhaust manifolds, but we can run aftermarket parts (has to be cast iron).

My motor is a .030 over Ford 351W.

What are the best heads, intake and exhaust manifolds?

Also we can't run FULL roller rockers, just roller tips.

I use Dart Iron Eagles, an Edelbrock Victor Jr. and Schoenfeld headers with great success right out of the box.

You don't say what engine you run, but these are great on my small block Chevy.

Dart makes a Windsor version of their head and intakes for them also, you can get them at most any of the shops that are carrying their stuff. If you get them matched, you should have a much better run at it. On the exhaust manifolds, I know there are better and some worse, but I can not tell you which on those. Get a Crane solid if you want a good cam that will last a while.

Hey dude, good to hear from others who race FORD on local levels. I have always used common exhaust manifolds on my 351w, but a guy that races another Ford here uses manifolds from a 69-70 351w 4barrel. They look just like a common manifold but they are longer (like 2inches) before they connect to the main exhaust line. As far as intakes go. If you have to run a 2barrrel carb, use a two barrel intake, as you probably know 351w cast 4bbl intkakes are very hard to come by, I have tried one with a two barrel adaptor and foud relativly no more power increase, except maybe my wallet being lighter because of the $100 i used for the purchase of the 351w 4bbl intake.
