One of my rubber motor mounts is failing. The engine is shifting to the point of the
alternator touching the control arm. I was thinking of going to solid mounts, but I'm
concerned of the possible damage that might occur to the engine block if I take another
hard hit like last year. I feel that if the rubber mount hadn't given away, I would have
had a cracked block. Is this something I should be concerned about?

Most people run solid mounts. Switch, you wont be sorry.
