just guessing but probably just a hydraulic roller style block and fair heads ok to build just make sure you have a fuel pump mounting flange that is machined out so it can be used i beleive all before 97' are.beware most police engines are wore out and need more work than non-police used motors.

I have a ltd with a 351w in 79 police car and was wondering if there any little tricks to making it more responsive. I run it as a cruiser and don't want to put much into it because of the claim. I took the stock alum. 2brl intake off and put a 650 holley 4brl on it but wondered about a cam. it has a 308 rearend and aod tranny. any help would be nice

has anyone you ever used a venturi carberator on the stock alum. intake. I just bought another car with a 351 in it that the guy couldn't get to run but it just had dead gas. took out the tank and put in a boat tank with fresh gas and it sounds good with the stock carb.

if you're talking about the ford variable venturi 2 bbl. carburetor, dump it. a holley or motorcraft 2 bbl. will bolt to the manifold and will be better by far.

bump the timing up to about 36 degrees total. that should make it come around. you'll need premium gas.
