im planning to take a 305 put a 400 rank in it i heard this makes a 334 then i wanna use 6inch rods which rods do i need to use 400 rods or 350 rods?
also how far do i need to bore this motor over to do so or how far can i bore it safely
my plan is to take the block and have it zero cleranced
i will run a set of 882 or 487 heads milled with 202 vlaves
should this be a good motor has anyone ran one with any luck thanks rick

not to be a party pooper here but if your going to run hobby in des moines you can't stroke an engine must be stock stroke for block and says no 400 parts

Eastside, 400 rod is 5.565" long, 350 rod is 5.70" long. Use an aftermarket 383 crank in the 305 block(mains already turned down). I do believe the deck can be machined for 2.02 valves. Is this correct? Maybe I'm getting confused w/305 heads!

why stroke a 305 you still have a very small cube motor that cant turn rpms. just my opinion proper cam selection by a professional is the key to good power.

I agree modi25, first thing I would do is scrap the 305 Idea your asking for trouble. find a good 350 block you'll save money in the long run, and like modi25 said a good cam with proper degree is the key to good torqe and horsepower
