I am running a 350 chevy engine with double hump heads, 292 cam, 2 barrel intake,2 barrel carb,(rodchester)with bigger jets(holley)pure street class.81 camaro, my car is good in the straight aways, boggs sluggish in turns.recently replaced coil, cap, rotor-button, module,8.8mm plug wires, tried friends carb, still same thing. Its almost like its not getting enough gas, or fire?also running a 3 speed manual in 2nd gear, 3:73 gears, running between 5000-6000 rpms.If I dont take my foot off the pedal in the turns, it almost dies.

sounds like your uncovering the fuel pick-up

what side does your fuel line run we had a simular problem our fuel line was on the wrong side and every time we'd go in the turn the fuel would dump the opposite way I'm not saying that is your problem but just that it might be

Luckily, I've never had to use this type of carb in a race car, so I am not speaking from first hand experience, but I would look at the fuel bowl/ jet position/ float level area, and make sure that the jets(or other fuel ports) are completely covered at all times, with a sufficient head of fuel. You may have to modify the float like some of the Holley tuners do, or fab a baffle or two. Then again, if no one you are racing against is doing this, I would look elsewhere first.

check your fuel pump pressure to make sure it's where it's suppose to be like 6-8 #"s. we had that same problem and changed everything like you did. turned out the pump was blowing the needle off the seat.

like mentioned above, check fuel pump pressure and also the float level. If the float is to low the gas cant reach the jets in the corner. Had the same problem with my holley this year. Check it out and let us know.
