Ok...we blew our motor last week, but the heads seem good. We just need a new short block. I have everything but the cam, and the cam that I want is a .510 intake .533 exhaust lift. We have run about 10 races on springs that are supposed to be good to .550 lift. Would I be ok with this cam, or should I go with a smaller cam, like one around .500 that I like to, but is 50% more than the first one. Thanks.

The heads were built by Midwest Motorsports. I would assume that they know what they are doing and that if the springs are good for .550 lift, the rest of the head would be as well. At least that is what they told me. Any other opinions?

John before you put those heads back on another engine you need to make sure that the valves aren't bent on the cylinder that broke the rod or any of the others for that matter. Chances are that the valves aren't hurt but it's better to be safe than sorry.

I checked last night, and found one bent valve, so it is going off to the head shop today to have it replaced. I would do it, but I just don't have the time while doing the rest of the work on the car.
