ok lets give this a good challange we have a 360 ci chevy with a quadra jet intake with a 3310 holley that has a adapter which is all we are allowed to run it has a r on it question is which adapters peform better the open type or the one that has each hole directed to the intake individually also this sounds stupid but has anyone ever ran jet size diferent right to left these dual plane intakes are lot deeper on the left than the right

The open adapter is better in my opinion because it would function as a spacer plate which will help increase the RPM range of that intake a little and also give the fuel and air mixture more time to atomize before reaching the cylinder. I wouldn't jet one side of the carb different from the other because of one side of the intake being deeper than the other. Both sides need the same amount of fuel, it's just that on the deeper side of the intake the fuel and air has slightly more time to atomize before getting to the cylinder. If you haven't done it already, block off the heat riser passages into the intake. This helps not heat that fuel and air mixture as much before it hits the cylinders. That may help you a little too.
