We only run the 455 pontiacs but we never run more than about 32 degrees total. Don't know if this helps or not.

Ran one for years in a stock car ran 36 degrees timing when we ran more the head gasket would not take the extra timing.

Thanks guys--I think that I will leave the timing where I have it which is 36 seems to have run great there from what I could tell (they made my class run the wrong way this week so I would run out of gas in the corners)
