I purchased speedways 600 lift springs after
inspection I found a few broken dampners
the springs look ok,what would cause this

If you are using the umbrella type valve guide seals this could be your cause. Usually anything over about 520 or so will have an interference with them.

Generally , your cause will come from valve float , coil bind , not enough spring pressure , or the most common thing if everything else is right ...... cheap springs . With the cam profiles that are run in today's race engine , good spring's are very important ! Regardless of what brand spring you run , they should be checked after every race !! It only takes one week spring to make a big mess !
