We use a 350 block usually a two bolt because no one else wants them.Crank shaft is a stock cast .Make sure your machinist knows that it is going to be used in racing so he can add some clearance.Look in a chevy book find min. journal size subtract a .001 and give him that # it should be perfect.Resize stock rods with new bolts.Get a set of speedpro hyper pistons I like the small domes to increase compression without a lot of machine work.Get cam from speedway and a set of darts or sportsmen heads with a 1.46" valve springs.I use weind 7546 intake and bg silver claw carb.Check the rods at end of year they tend to get loose but have run them for two years.Only problems I have had is with crankshaft. They will break sometimes but I think you could add radius and use narrow bearings and this could help. Now hope the track gets slick.
