I'd build a 406 with gobs of low end power and then gear it to turn 6200. It'll run all year and be very drivable when the track slicks over.

i run a 406 and walk away from every other car at the track. haven't had any problems with it in two years and i have been beating the crap out of it.

Pitbull, if you have to buy rods (you didn't say), I wouldn't use anything less than 6" rods, no matter what combo you decide on. And the price difference for a 5.7 or a 6" rod piston is nearly zero...
