I dont even use those cheap rubber gaskets that usually come in the gasket kits. I just use RTV on the front and back on the block. I just put a nice bead just a bit thicker than what the gaskets are that are in the kits, and have never had a problem.

be sure to let it dry over night , if you start it right away it will build a little presure and push some of it out. just use about 8th of an inch tall and about 3/8 inch wide and put it on and then finish bolting everything up and then let it dry over night.good luck.

I used to use red high-temp RTV until I found something called Right Stuff made by Permatex. This stuff is awsome. It comes in a small can with a push over nozzle.Run a bead of this across front and back of block, let it set about 10 minutes ,then set the intake STRAIGHT DOWN .I've been using this stuff for a couple of years . It works great for all kinds of gaskets too.The cans are sort of expensive (about 15 bucks) but 1 can will do 4 or5 intakes..

Using RTV AND the rubber gaskets is the worst possible combination. The RTV will lubricate the gasket and nine times out of ten it will make it move out of position! Use RTV only. I'd go with a 1/4" high bead though.
