Just my opinion but........Lunati is horrible. Ever since Holley bought them its been downhill. I called them for a cam recommendation, ordered it, it did not run all that great, called them again and got a totally different recommendation and was told the first cam was for 4 barrells and bigger HP engines. I have heard similar stories time and time again. Lunati will never get a penny of mine again. Call anybody but Lunati. sixwillwin

I've heard the same thing many times about the new Lunati. They're big buisness now and seem to have lost the personal touch.

I have had very good luck with Clay Smith Cams. They grind each cam for each application. They recomended a different can for two 406's because one had 5.7 rods and the other 6.0 rods. Both engines were very fast.

That cam is way too much for a 2barrel and manifolds. What you need is a 236/244 degree cam at .050 lift, ground on a 108 centerline. Too much cam will make you a lot slower than too small a cam It needs to be ground on a 108 centerline to keep cylinder pressure up.

What you need is about a 246 degree intake duration, 242 exhaust @.050 with a 109 or 110 lobe separation. This effectively controls reversion caused primarily by the restricted exhaust. This also lets you use a longer duration intake than normal.
Check our web site ( camcraftcams.com )and read the article Tuning your cam for maximum power. Restricted circle track cams are the backbone of our business. We can help you go faster.
