What is your preference? I am looking at getting one for some bigger events, what do you think is the best and why?

That is what I had heard. I also heard that the berts were a little jerky too. Is this true? Thanks for your input Brian.

We use a muncie trans. with 2nd and 3rd removed to make room for a honda wet clutch pak. Works the same as a bert, but cost about half as much!!!

WE USE THEM IN MODIFIEDS AND HAVEN'T HAD MANY PROBLEMS WITH THEM, BUT WITH 8" TIRES IT WOULD BE HARD TO TWIST OFF THE INPUT SHAFT. A FEW LATE MODELS HAVE DONE IT . RAY GUSS SR. CAME UP WITH THE IDEA.

We use a bert. It is a little jumpy but have no problems with it. We change the oil almost every week, and have had it rebuilt at the end of each year. We have it rebuilt just in case. But the Bert was money well spent, no regrets.
