Where are you running your fuel line? I have seen some run rubber from the fuel cell in the back to the front. Is it that would steel or copper transfer too much heat? I am currently using the stock that runs along the frame rail. When I was drag racing everything had to be metal. Week before last I found my exhaust was pointing toward the fuel line causing me to vapor lock so I have started looking around at other solutions. What do ya'll think?

I run mine through the cockpit enclosed in 5500 lbs steel braided hydraulic line. Eddie

Hi DirtDobber. I run a 1/2 inch copper pipe with a K&N high capacity washable fuel filter just before the carb.This gives low fuel restriction (no fuel starving).Also remember to make the breather big enough on the tank. We also use 2 3inch pieces of rubber in the fuel line (this helps a lot if the car gets hit) one near the tank and one near the carb. The jolt the car gets can somtimes unseat the fancy anodized fittings, the cost a fortune, and you dont need fuel leaks anywhere!

For whatever its worth, I run mine in 3/8" copper tubing under car, basically following the same routing as the stock one. I took an old water hose and sleeved it to keep it from rubbing on anything. Never had any problems starving for fuel, but I run 500cfm 2 bbl and stock fuel pump. I have also seen them run in EMT conduit through the cockpit--this may be what you need to do. If you do run through the cockpit, sleeving in conduit is a must for safety. Hope that helps.

i use all rubber and run it like the stock was i don't like using any kind of metal line simlpy because it's alot easier to work with the rubber and alot cheaper too also that way it can be one piece from front to rear and no chance of a hose clamp coming loose most guys around here will run it thru the car in flex conduit like the others have suggested but i'm always afraid that in a wreck it may get pinched and could break

I put a very short section of rubber on the cell that then went to 3/8 copper. I ran the copper through EMT conduit through the cab (interior) and into the engine bay. From there it was rubber line. Just a side not- The conduit was $2.37 for 10foot stick,3/8 copper was $.67 a foot, and 3/8 rubber was $1.17 a foot.

The only advantage of rubber is its easy. I try to stay near the NHRA rule of 12" of rubber line. Also, with a good fuel pump, a rubber line could collapse. Avoid rubber, bending steel lines isn't that difficult if you get a good bender. I've got an aluminum one that was near $10 at AutoZone.

I run 3/8" steel line along the frame rail under the car. I have a Holley 110 gph with a 700cfm dbl pumper and I'm always at around 7 psi. So, I think 3/8" steel is enough.

We run a 1/2" steel braided fuel line thru a 3/4" conduit from the trunk area to the engine compartment. The conduit is routed along the right side of the cockpit area.

When you run the fuel line through the cockpit, it also facilitates installing a fuel safety shut-off valve that you can reach
while your seat belts are latched.
