I've got a set of heads that recently cracked after the engine ran hot. I figured I'd ask if anyone on here knew of anyone who specialized in repairing them. I'd usually just pitch em into the scrap iron pile but I did read a post on here one time about someone welding some cracks up. These are cracked from the center head bolt hole to the water jacket closest to the intake in the center. I can't recall for sure but it may have been Hendren racing engines that commented on cracked heads before. Also has anyone had problems with repaired heads failing quickly?

I bet your local welding shop can most likely fix those, but I would think like you in that I would want a reliable and trustworthy repairman working on my heads. I guess the only question is can another set be had and redone for racing for as much or maybe cheaper?
