i am a tech inspector for 35 raceway and i catch alot of guys cheating with different things. there was only one guy that i couldnt catch last year cheating but he moved to the modified 4cyl. class so now i dont have to worry about him. i dont mind a little improvising but down right cheating is out of the question.

Seems like no matter where you are the rules have what you would call GREY AREAS so i see nothing wrong with a little creative interpritation of the rules. Eddie

I agree with the tech inspector creativeness should be allowed or the racer at least be given a week or two too be corrected the problem if the inspector think it goes too far. my problem is the inspectors that look at the same thing everyweek then at the end of the season when the points battles are hot and heavy disqualify someone for something they've never been told to correct.

we only do that to the racers that we know are down right cheating and we bust them about 3/4 through the season so they cant get there points back. sometimes we will tech after the heat races because some of our 4cyl. guys will change their camshafts before the heat races and put there stock ones back in for the feature so they have gotten a good startin spot in the feature and with the stock cam they can hold there position in the feature. i just want everyone to be fair and have a good time but i guess most of them would rather argue aout things. i aint sure, this is coming from a 17 year old tech inspector that is only in his second year or work with the race cars. i love racin though.

i used to follow the rules to a t but any more in our class they haven't been teching for crap so if you wanna be fast you gotta play with the gray

One thing I'm seeing at our track is inspecting one car and nitpicking everything and not even looking at other cars.

i have seen that too but they are so dumb here they could never catch a guy the whole year after looking at the motor 3-4 times how hard is it to look at a casting # on a set of heads and figure out what they are

The tech inspections are only as good as the tech inspectors. Ours are so damm weak it is not even hardly worth talking about.
I hate cheating but if I want to race/not get my *** kicked all over the track then I have to "bend the rules". I am a decent driver, but there is no way I could go race a rules legal car and not get the ---- kicked out of me every saturday. They say to race for the fun of it but it aint fun when you are being mugged each and every week. So then you either bend the rules, quit, or keep losing.

tech i woukd be realy ticked if i found out about letting somebody slide for a long time alot of guys in these lower classes could care less about points they don't put the fuel in the car sure you lose points but you don't have to give the money back. and you want a way to cure your cam swapping problem line them by point average top man starts 12th and on up till you get the top 12 then everybody else startes the rest of the way back you still have to qualify thru the heats but it doesn't effect your feature starting spot

Sorry techmaster, I did not mean to offend you if I did.
It is kinda a sore subject for me. No I did not get burned "cheating". I just wonder how our tech inspector can be teching when he spends all night at the fence watching races(all the races mind you).

we dont let them slide on major things. like week before last a guy in our 4cyl modified class was running a spoiler that was 2 inches to high. we told him dont worry about it because 2 inches might make a difference in nascar but not on a 1/5 mile dirt bull ring. we let the back of the pack racers slide on rules because we know that they cant run with the big guys so we make it fairer for them to race here at my track. i spend all night watchin the races too so i can watch for cheaters and i aint mad at you for sayin that i was just jokin but i take my job very seriously. well now we do double tear downs, if you want someone tore down your gettin tore down too.

The track we race at has a problem with changing rules as the year goes by there for I have no respect for their rules or tech inspectors . I have cheated and have been caught and D.Q for it and had it coming . But have seen things that other people have done and been caught and then they cry around about it and they are given two weeks to fix it . This really torks me off whats good for one should be good for all . Our track gave us our rules the end of Jan . this year and had a mall show in March they looked at cars at the mall and changed the rules by the first practice then had one race and changed the rules again , race one more night and changed them again. Maybe I'm just so torked off that I have lost the real thing I go to the race for a good time win or loose.

Here is a real DOOSY! My car fits the rulebook at my track, last week I was leading the feature till this guy banked off me to pass and then sandwiched me between him and a lap car. I ended up in the infield,on the drivers door just past the flag stand finishing 2nd.
At the tech inspection this same guy was found to be running an MSD ignition system( a NO-NO in my class) He was paid for first and so was I ,,,He was told to have it off by next week.
He was paid for 1st because the Tech man overlooked it during the sign-in inspection.Have you ever seen anything like this?
