I need some info on a 10 bolt 7.5 Chevy rear end.(metric)My question is can you replace the old spider gears with a mini spool without disturbing the ring and pinion? I may replace it with a new spider gear set-up that is welded. I just need to know if this can be done without complete teardown and how to do it. Thanks!

save yourself $100 and leave the weldeed gears in there if they where done right they should never give you any problems the ones in mine have been in there for 10 years and no problems just pop out the axles and burn um with a good stick welder

I agree with racer on leaving the gears alone. I ran welded up gears in my 8.5 GM 10 bolt since 95 and haven't had a problem with them.

I agree with Racer, WELD those babies! I have ran for 6 years , My brother for 12 and my Dad before that. We have always welded the spiders and never had any trouble.
If you weld them with the carrier in the houseing , be sure to chip away all the slag and run a magnet through the bottom to get all metal fragment out, Then you ready to rock.
