The front springs of an 83 Monte Carlo are as follows:
without air, rate 346, loaded height 11" free height 15.157"
with air, rate 346, loaded height 11" free height 15.387"
spring I.D. 4.080, wire dia. .672"

Hope this helps, SLEEPY

Hi twleach2, use the 12" springs if you don't have weight jacks. The frame height needs to be in the range of 6 1/2" to 7". Measure this at each end of the side rail at the point where it welds to the stamped part of the frame. This is for the metric frame, others I'm not sure of the measurement.

With the frame blocked to this height and the front spring removed and the tire still on, there should be at minimum of 3" of upward (bump) travel before the a-frasmes touch the chassis. I found if therre is more than 3 1/2" the roll center gets to high. Hope this helps, SLEEPY
