Hey guys, I run mostly street stock but I am building a bomber car this year and I have had very little experience with Q-jets. What should I look for when I go junking? Numbers, car makes, year models, etc. I simply want to start with the best possible choice. Thanks

Digger, go to quadrajet.com they have a decoding chart that may be of some help. My carb come off of a 78 truck according to the code numbers. Look for one with out the electronic solenoid for the primaries. I bought a book by Doug Roe on Rochester carbs and rebuilt it my self. The older q-jets (702 and 703) are the best, but are hard to find. The later models (704 and 1705) are emission carbs and aren't suppose to be as tunable. My carb works well enough for now. There is plenty of help here on the net use the search engine to find info. Good Luck. Deed
