Topic: reading spark plugs
posted July 13, 2001 11:43 AM
At one time someone posted this url in this newsgroup about reading spark
plugs, http://www.centuryperformance.com/spark2.htm . In looking at my spark
plugs, mine look like the "Normal Condition". I run a 355 sbc, 11:1, using
autolite 23 plugs, 110 octane gas, 4bbl Rochester 750. I appear to be
using the correct plugs through a visual inspection.
Does anyone know of a chart that breaks down "Normal Condition" in more
detail so as to indicate what way to go if making a plug change or is this
just a trial-and-error sort of deal?
I'm interested in tuning to increase performance by a plug change if
that is possible. What is the best way to do this?
