what effect will the new track option weight rule have? a lot of the new 'lite' cars will be penalized. the older cars will still be competitive.

most std DOM chassis with most common non super light or expensive parts, with a sbc and power glide, weigh around 2200 -2300 pounds race ready with 20 gallons of fuel, plus add 50-80 pounds to get the tail % up to somewhere around 56-58 or more % puts them around less say 2350, plus add your average driver weight of 200 thats 2550. most cars in a 20 lap feature will use only 10-15 gallons of fuel. so you would be within the rule after the feature. so what this new rule will do when enforced if it ever is will equalize those with super light cars and the other older slightly heavier ones. will be interesting next year to see how many tracks are going to use the promoter option of enforcing it. richard

I think they are trying to make some of the new cars way to lite. And that can make them throw away cars or unsafe for the driver. I think the weight rule is a good deal. That is just my thought.
