Does anybody know anything about some rule changes that wissota is making. Ecspecially for the limited mods. Maybe anything about the chateau speedway b-mods?

Nothing finalized yet but I do know that
they are not going to go with the E85 project
like Midwest Modified is. I am sure that
they are not going to allow McCreary's anymore and I am curious what they are going
to do with the 305 rule, automatics and if
they do stick with automatics, the torque
converter rule. I run Kasson and am going
to run Chateau some also this year. Did you
run last year?

Yeah, I ran most of the year at lansing, and one race at Kasson. I was the # 82.

How did you do there? What kind of car do you have?

I did alright for not running the whole year, the car is a 97 Action with monos. That suspension didn't work for me so I'm going to convert to a three link. The car was real underpowered so I really had to learn how to drive hard, so if we put some more power under the hood, it should be rolling good. What was your car?

My car is a 94 custom, with the stock chevelle 4-link in it. We had a really good year with it, numerous heat wins and only one feature win but did not finish out of the top 5 the last half of the year at any track. I think a 3-link is a much better suspension for a b-mod than a monoleaf also, I think you will like that better. I saw in some early posts that you are a ford man, what size motor do you run? It is hard to find more horses with these motors with the way the rules are set so any horses you can find would be helpful.

Can anyone help me out here? Why does WISSOTA need to add rules to the modified class. These are $400 claimer motors, RIGHT.
It's easy to see the claim rule doesn't work in wissota because of the good-buddy system.
So now we can spend more money on heads, or build a complete new spec. motor. It is easy to see the people who run wissota don't have the racers interest at heart, they care only about the people that spend money with them to put their stickers on every car.
Wissota is no longer a promoters org. it is a marketing company that only cares about selling advertising space on the side of every race car...........I MAY HAVE TO RUN THEIR STICKERS, BUT I DON'T HAVE TO BUY THEIR PRODUCTS. I DON'T, AND NEVER WILL.
THERE ARE PLENTY OF OTHER COMPANIES OUT THERE TO SELL ME WHAT I NEED TO RACE.
I just wish there were enough tracks out there with the testicles to tell wissota bye-bye, the tracks could take the money they give to wissota every night to sanction the classes and put that money in the point fund.
Racers don't need wissota, wissota needs racers. we need to take a stand on this crap and have a voice heard.
To the tracks that said the spec motor couldn't keep up. LOOK AT YOUR TIRE RULE.
tell them to bring 400 with them next week and buy one of them big fast motors if that's what they need to keep up.

First of all, awkwardjeff, make your own post, we're not bashing wissota here.

Yeah, I am a Ford man, and I was only running a 302, I thought it really wouldn't be a bad idea because of the weight thing, but it turns out we could only get the car about 70 lbs lighter than everybody else anyways. Next year I am going to use a windsor, and I hope they change the transmission or at least the torque converter rule. Yeah, the rules don't help us out much, but this next year should be a lot better with the 351, ecspecially since I learned how to drive it hard (and keep up)with the little baby motor.

Jay, Thanks for your thoughts on this subject. I didn't think I was bashing wissota, I was only pointing out they have lost touch with the needs of the racers.
They are a marketing company that sells advertising, thats it in a nut shell.
They are too big now for their own good, they used to make money off the racers. Now that they are a advertising company they take care of the needs of the customers(insert bart, Hoosier, Sonoco, ect.). Then don't forget they are non-profit? and sense very little of the money collected by wissota seems to make its way back to the racers i guess it's all the left over monies are spent on administration of this organization. I need to stop now, I need to get my boat ready to go fishing on friday nights this summer...............JEFF

Wissota took it over completely? I do not believe that. I just got a letter from midwest modified saying they will have the new set rules at the middle of the month. Funnier things have happened though.

Bk19, and 27mod, You two sound a little unsetteled about wissota taking over the santion of your class at the tracks you race.
See powercat82111 now you see how people feel about this arrangment. They have every right to feel upset about this decision that has been made about there future. They invested in a class that they could afford and enjoy now wissota will take over and dictate what you will spend your money on and help you make rules for your new class.
powercat821111 i hope you will be happy buying hundred dollar hoosiers for two hundred to win..........LOL
Tell me what size you are and i'll order you a pair of wissota pj's for christmas.

I will have to see what rule changes they are proposing to change. You are right Jeff wissota is an organization that is making racing unaffordable in my opinion, being a college student and thinking I had found a class that I could run financially until I was done with school. If a few rules change in particular the torque converter rule, then I will be forced to make the move up to "Big Mods" one year earlier then had planned, weather this is the right decision or not I do not know. What I do know is that if I have to buy a new torque converter for the third year in a row I will have more money into torque converters then I would into a professionally built direct drive! I am not going to spend that much money to get $75 to win, and have the option of running at only a few different tracks.

mod27, I don't think wissota will change anything right away. They have their plate full right now......I think they needed this class to keep control of the mods they have lost in the past 5 years. They have chased away lots of people over money.....And let me say " I DON'T WANT THE PROMOTORS TO INCREASE THE SIZE OF THE PURSE" bet you never thought you would hear a racer say that. I don't think thats the answer we need to control the cost of these cars.....in EVERY CLASS......i know guys that run super stocks that have 6-8 grand in the motors and they only keep up, these aren't the guys kicking BUTT.....I know a lot of people around here that want to go to a mid-west mod, or some other form of cheaper mod......now wissota see's this happening they have decieded to get into the B-MOD deal and they will only ***** that up.
Look what they did for sprint car racing....
.......LOL They sure ******* that deal all up, I'm glad i didn't spend money to build a few motors to run them.....

I never said I liked Wissota, I don't know where you got that from! I really don't like it and I hope my track goes outlaw like there has been talk about. I would much rather run IMCA or something else where they actually enforce rules so I'm not running against 383's or 400's when I'm only running a 302. Like mod27, I am a college student as well and I don't have the time or money either. I was just politely saying "Why don't you start your own post", and Yes, I would go on there and tell my thoughts. So are the rules going to be like the midwest mods or what? What school are you going to mod27, I go to MSU.
