I'm most likely going to use a ford top-loader three-speed next year, does anybody have experience with this and how do they work. How do they compare weight-wise and durability-wise to a brinn or any other high-dollar tranny?
thanks

I have been using a 3 speed toploader for the last 3 seasons. It has been working great and I haven't had any problems. In fact, I borrowed my tranny from a friend that used it in his dirt late model for many years, and he used it to win 2 Nascar Pacific Coast Regional championships and one Nascar National Championship. This should speak for itself as far as durability and performance, but they are heavy. The Bert or Brinn would be a lighter option, but a lot more money. If you have the top loader, I wouldn't hesitate to use it. Don't spend the money if you don't have to. Just my two cents worth.

Chad.
