I have always run a 5th coil/torque arm with with bird cages. I am now switching to a pull bar/torque link with clamped mounted brakets. AFCO makes two kinds, one with mini springs and one with 5" OD springs. What are the good and bad of each, and what spring rate should I start out with.
Run 3/8 to 1/2 mile dirt tracks, modified, race ready is around 2500 lbs, with driver, fuel, and lead.

Thanks.

I really don't think it will matter that much with bird cages. Both are really doing approximately the same thing....traction buffer. The rotational value that you get off of the rear end is lost with bird cages unless you clamp them.

So, I personally don't think it matters that much on your setup without the clamp. With the clamp, I would go with the one that can give you more rotation.

The 5" srings are for IMCA were rules don't allow mini springs
