I am now trying a swing arm rear suspension on my mod (rayburn style with front 20 1/2"
lower arms and long 40" + rear arms high and to the rear of car) what spring rates has
anyone had success with with this type setup.
Both front and rear springs? I don't want to start out totally out of the ballpark. thanks
in advance.

Well, here is what has worked for me.....
rf-750
lf-850
lr-250
rr-225
we run about 70pounds of bite in the left rear..........about 58% rear......about 51% cross weight.......
I know a lot of guys that run the next set of nubers i will give you........We tried to make the car work with their numbers but the car would knock the walls down ......then we would loosen the thing up a LITTLE .... but then the car would drive its-self in a circle in the middle of the turn........never could find a happy spot with these numbers........
lf-800
rf-750
lr-350
rr-225 or 250
then they run about 250 pounds of bite in the left rear..........same rear % and about 54% cross wieght soooooo.........i guess now that i have confussed you ........if you like to toss the car in go with this if you like to roll the car in use the first set up.
the reason for the left front spring being stiffer in the second set-up is to help the right rear bite and the softer right front helps the car unload the left rear getting in the corner..........but with all this bite in the left rear it has a lot of forward bite...............
I told you what we like and how i drive, now all you need to do is decide???????LOL
JEFF
PS. THE FRONT SRING RATE IS ON A METRIC FRONT WITH NOVA LOWERS.......

DIRT 42, you gave to spring rates with no other information?????????
I just have a hard time with that info.....i put those springs in and the pull-bar got ripped apart???????WHAT CAUSED THIS????
OR WAS I SUPPOSE TO PUT THOSE SPRINGS IN THE REAR END????????????
AND IF YOU THINK THAT THOSE TWO SPRINGS MADE ALL THE DIFFERANCE IN YOUR CAR, WHAT WILL HAPPEN WHEN YOU BEND A SHOCK.....WILL YOU GO TO A SOFTER SRPING TO OFF SET THE BIND????

LOL

SORRY, MORE INFO WOULD HAVE BEEN NICE THOUGH.

thanks for the information awkwardjeff.
going to Charlotte Dirt Track on Friday and then over to Tennessee Motor Speedway on Saturday this weekend to try new setup out. will let you know what happens. used your first suggestions but have 200 lbs of bite in car and could get rear only up to 56%. we will see what happens.
