Does anyone know the gear ratios for first , second and third,in the saginaw tranys, I know there are four different ones. Also the ratios for the two speed power glides, and how to tell them apart. thanks DREAM CATCHER

NO LINE ON INPUT SHAFT 2.84 2.01 1.35 1.00

1 LINE 2.54 1.80 1.44 1.00

2 LINE 3.11 2.20 1.47 1.00

3 LINE 3.50 2.47 1.47 1.00

MUNCIE 4 SPEED
NO LINE 2.56 1.91 1.48 1.00

1 LINE 2.20 1.64 1.28 1.00

Do you know the numbers for a 3 speed sag?

To tell the difference on the powerglide lo gears you can measure the input shaft. The 1.76 has a 12 7/8" length and 1.82 is 12 5/8".
The 1.82 has a stamped steel carrier and the 1.76 is a cast steel carrier and is real heavy.

Dream, all Two Speeds are 1:1 in high gear.

The two most common are:
1st 2.84 2nd 1.68 3rd 1.00
1st 2.54 2nd 1.50 3rd 1.00
there is another that is 1.75 2nd, don't know low.
