The quickener ratio will have to be decreased if you want to do this, most of the quickeners do have a 1.5 version for this. This will help you in the long run. I dont like fighting the steering myself. But it is just one more thing to break.

Just tinkering in the shop and found that you could save around thirty pounds if you were to eliminate the heavier box, pump, hoses, reservoir, belts, bolts and ect. But do you think the harder steering is worth the extra weight. Remember that weight is in the very front of the car and their is also some horsepower to be gained by not running the pump. Do you think you would have to run a little less ratio on the quickner so that it was'nt too hard to steer? I heard somewhere that the old manual boxes were something like 16 to 1 ratios. Any opinions are appreciated I'm just a guy looking for an edge and I think we all know how that is!!!!!
This will work if you want to BULL the car around. The quickener will even make it harder and your reaction time will be longer because of the stiff steering.
